Beyond the Classroom

At the Pelican, we believe in nurturing the whole child. In keeping with our value of breadth and balance, we offer an exceptional range of opportunities that inspire children to discover new passions, build new skills and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our vibrant programme of extra-curricular clubs ensures that every child can explore, create and thrive. (Please note that extra-curricular clubs carry an additional charge.)

From Reception, families can choose from an exciting selection of before- and after-school clubs that run across the academic year. Whether it’s Yoga & Wellbeing, Creative Club, Coding & Robotics, Chess, Ballet, Gymnastics, Multi-Sports, Musical Theatre, Lego Club, Street Dance, Eco Club or joining our beloved Pelican Singers, there truly is something for everyone.

Each club is led by a specialist who brings expertise, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working with young children.

Pelican pupils delight in the chance to take part in activities beyond the classroom and to mix with friends from across their year group or key stage. Many clubs also offer the opportunity to work towards recognised national awards, such as Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams or RISE gymnastics awards—giving children goals to strive towards and achievements to celebrate.

Our rich co-curricular offer further enhances the school day, adding depth, excitement and creativity to the curriculum. Every year group takes to the stage with performances for friends and family, from Class Assemblies to full year-group productions. These valuable experiences grow confidence, build self-esteem and spark a love of drama and performance.
