Work with Us
Careers at The Perse span far more than the classroom. From teaching roles in our academically selective Pre-Prep, Prep, Upper School and Sixth Form, to positions in our brand new Sports Centre and Perse Academy of Performing Arts, and a wide range of support staff roles across the School, we offer opportunities for talented people at every stage of their career.
Whatever your background, you’ll be supported, challenged and part of a community that takes pride in what it does.
The Perse is a friendly and inspiring place to work. You would be part of a caring and inclusive community, in which our students feel safe and thrive.
We know our passionate and talented staff are our biggest assets and we help our staff to realise their ambitions here by providing extensive professional development opportunities.
It is a thing of some beauty to see and to hear students who have come to their own scholarly understanding about something, and the confidence with which they then handle questions
Alex Courtney, Assistant Head (Teaching & Learning)
Our Staff

The quality of a Perse education begins with our people. We are proud of our extraordinarily talented, highly qualified and ambitious workforce, united by a commitment to helping every pupil flourish.
Our staff bring an exceptional breadth of knowledge and experience to school life. Some have devoted their careers to education, while others have joined the profession after working in industry, academia or other specialist fields. Together, they combine deep subject knowledge with energy, curiosity and a genuine vocation for supporting young people.
Specialist teaching begins at the Pelican and continues throughout the School. Alongside our teachers, an extensive team of pastoral, operational and professional staff provides the expertise, care and support that enable our pupils and schools to thrive.
Teaching Opportunities

As an academically-selective school, you’ll work with some of the brightest and most intellectually curious young minds and have the chance to inspire them through stimulating and creative lessons.
We also encourage teaching staff to get involved in our thriving extra-curricular programme by running one of our many lunchtime and after-school clubs and societies. You can find our teaching staff terms and conditions below.
You take ambitious pupils and you put them with ambitious staff, and together that’s a winning formula – that’s what creates the Perse culture.
