LOVE LEARNING, GROW CONFIDENTLY, ACHIEVE HIGHLY

Welcome from the Head

The years from 11 to 18 are full of possibility. Pupils discover new interests, acquire lifelong skills, form lasting friendships and grow in confidence and independence.

I often describe a Perse education through a simple 4-3-2-1 philosophy. Four values underpin everything we do: intellectual curiosity and scholarship; endeavour; breadth and balance; and valuing one another and our environment. We believe education should be three-dimensional, balancing academic excellence with exceptional opportunities beyond the classroom and outstanding pastoral care. At the heart of our community are two essential constituents – our pupils and our staff. And what motivates us all is one word: care.

Care means knowing pupils well, stretching them appropriately and supporting them when needed. It also means helping young people learn to care about their work, one another, their community and the wider world.

This philosophy helps pupils achieve exceptional educational outcomes while developing the curiosity, confidence and character to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

I hope you will visit and experience the pastoral warmth, intellectual energy and breadth of opportunity that make The Perse such a distinctive place to learn, grow and achieve.
