KNOWN. INSPIRED. PREPARED.

Sixth Form Ethos & Values

Our Sixth Form ethos is rooted in the values that shape life across The Perse: endeavour; intellectual curiosity and scholarship; breadth and balance; and valuing one another and our environment. In the Sixth Form, these values are brought to life through three promises to every student: to be Known, Inspired and Prepared.

Together, our values and promises influence the way we teach, the way we support our students and the way we prepare them for university, careers and life beyond school.

Known, Inspired, Prepared

Our Sixth Form delivers an exceptional education for young people where pupils are known, inspired and Prepared.

Known As an individual

You’ll be taught in exceptionally small classes by teachers who know your strengths, understand your ambitions and challenge you to think more deeply. Because they know you as an individual, they can adapt their teaching, encourage your interests and provide the support that helps you flourish academically and personally.

Inspired to explore every opportunity

Whether in the classroom, through research, on the stage, on the sports field or in one of more than 100 clubs and societies, you are encouraged to pursue your interests with curiosity and ambition. Expert teaching, academic stretch and Cambridge’s rich intellectual culture inspire you to think beyond the curriculum and discover your passion.

 Prepared for whatever comes next

Through our personalised Perse Futures Programme, leadership opportunities and individual guidance, you will develop the confidence, skills and resilience to thrive at university, in your career and in a rapidly changing world.

The school helped me develop soft skills that became really valuable later: how to speak to people, present ideas and carry myself in professional environments.
