The Perse School, Cambridge is located across three sites in the south of the city, all within easy reach of Cambridge city centre and the surrounding area. The Pelican, Prep and Upper are well connected by public transport and accessible via Cambridge’s extensive walking and cycling network.
Walking and cycling
All three schools are accessible through Cambridge’s extensive pedestrian and cycle network. Cycle and scooter parking is available at each site, including covered spaces. Find The Perse using directions below, however you choose to travel.
By train
Cambridge is served by frequent direct trains from London King’s Cross and London Liverpool Street, as well as services from across the region. Our schools can be reached from either Cambridge or Cambridge South station, depending on the site you are visiting.

By bus
Public bus services connect our schools with Cambridge city centre, the railway stations, Park & Ride sites and surrounding communities. The Upper also has dedicated bus stops on Hills Road and operates an extensive home-to-school bus network.
As routes and timetables can change, plan your journey using the relevant operator’s website or the Cambridgeshire public transport journey information.
By road
Limited visitor parking is available at each school. If you need an accessible parking space or have particular access requirements, please contact the school before your visit.
Where on-street parking is permitted, please park safely and considerately, taking care not to obstruct neighbouring properties.
Where possible, we encourage pupils, parents, carers and visitors to support our sustainability efforts by travelling by public transport, on foot or by bicycle.
If you are attending an event, check your joining instructions carefully, as entrances and parking arrangements may vary.

Travel Information
The Pelican is on Glebe Road, just off Hills Road and close to the Upper School.
- Bus: Babraham Road Park & Ride services stop outside the Upper School on Hills Road, approximately two minutes’ walk from the Pelican.
- Train: The Pelican is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from Cambridge station and 25 minutes from Cambridge South station. Connecting bus services are also available.
- Cycling: Secure, covered parking is available for bicycles and scooters.
- Parking: Limited visitor parking is available on site.

Travel Information
The Prep is on the corner of Trumpington Road and Porson Road. The main entrance is on Porson Court, just off Porson Road.
A secondary entrance on Long Road is available to Perse pedestrians and cyclists at the beginning and end of the school day. It is located between 119 Long Road and the BT Cambridge Trunks Telephone Exchange.
- Bus: Trumpington Park & Ride services and the number 26 stop on Trumpington Road near the Prep. Services 18 and 132 serve Long Road.
- Train: The Prep is approximately 25–30 minutes’ walk from Cambridge station. The Long Road entrance is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from Cambridge South station.
- Cycling: Extensive cycle and scooter parking, including covered areas, is available on site.
- Parking: Limited visitor parking is available in the school car park.

The Upper and Sixth Form share our Hills Road campus, opposite Glebe Road.
- Bus: The campus has dedicated bus stops on Hills Road and is served by frequent services connecting it with the city centre, railway stations, Park & Ride sites and surrounding areas.
