Year 7 – 9 Themes & Projects

Themes & Projects is our Perse Research course for Years 7 and 8. Pupils develop their study skills and critical awareness by looking at what research is, how questions are asked, what counts as evidence and the ethics of research. The course builds by the second term to consider a big interdisciplinary theme and we associate each termly theme with a ‘real world’-style project – an appropriately challenging and creative research task. Themes & Projects provides our Lower School pupils with more opportunities to engage individually and collaboratively with problems that cut across several subjects, and to see how their academic learning can be applied in creative and collaborative ways.
