FUELLED BY CURIOSITY, DRIVEN BY DISCOVERY

Academic Life

The Perse is one of the UK’s highest-performing schools, but academic ambition is about more than examination results. We want pupils to enjoy learning, think independently and develop the confidence to formulate, evaluate and communicate their ideas.

A broad curriculum in Years 7 and 8 provides strong foundations across sciences, languages, humanities, technology and the arts. As pupils move towards GCSE, expert guidance helps them make choices that reflect their strengths and interests.

Learning extends well beyond the syllabus. Research projects, the Perse Project Qualification, Higher Project Qualification, 42 Lecture Series, academic societies, Olympiads, debates and competitions give pupils opportunities to explore ideas in greater depth.

Pupils are also taught to approach artificial intelligence thoughtfully: questioning information, evaluating evidence and using emerging tools responsibly alongside deep knowledge, creativity and critical thinking.

The staff are brilliant and give so much of their time. I enjoy the lessons and the teaching is excellent.
