SIXTH FORM

Research Programmes

Research is an important part of academic life in The Perse Sixth Form. Our research programmes give students the opportunity to explore subjects beyond the curriculum, investigate questions that genuinely interest them and develop the independent learning skills valued by leading universities.

Undertaking a research project encourages students to think critically, analyse information, evaluate evidence and communicate their ideas with confidence. It is also an excellent way to deepen subject knowledge while building the academic skills needed for higher education and future study.

Students can choose from two Sixth Form research programmes: the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an externally assessed qualification, or the Rouse Award, The Perse’s own independent research programme. Both provide an opportunity to pursue an area of personal interest through sustained academic enquiry, supported by expert guidance from staff.
