U12 girls crowned regional hockey champions

The U12 Girls hockey A team had brilliant success last week, winning the U12 regional hockey tournament. Despite the slightly slow start, the girls managed to win their group with 3 wins and 1 draw. The stand-out performance at this stage was from Jess in goal who demonstrated excellent decision-making and agility, making some exceptional saves under pressure.

Having won their group, the girls progressed to the semi-final where they faced local rivals, Kings School. However, they came out all guns blazing, hungry for the ball. They worked brilliantly as a team with some lovely sequences of play, passing and goals. A stand-out performance goes to Mia who remained incredibly calm under pressure, stepping through lines to break up Kings’ press and demonstrating brilliant vision and consistency. They came away with a 3:1 win, going through to the final where they faced Bishop Stortford College.

At this stage legs were tired, but the team rallied and continued to work hard both on and off the ball with some lovely triangles of play, solid pressing and consistent effort from all players to work back when under pressure. They ultimately won the game 2:0 with some tenacious goals from Naishe and Ellie and thus were crowned regional champions 2025!

Sadly, this is where the competition ends for this year as the competition does not progress beyond regional rounds for the U12 age group. However, this is a fantastic stand-alone achievement and a brilliant way to round off an almost unbeaten season!
