Perse team in the equation for national maths competition finals

The Perse team displayed their numerical knowledge in emphatic style as they qualified for the national finals of the Team Maths Challenge.
They scored an incredible total of 234 points out of a possible 236 in the regional finals, as they answered a series of maths questions against the clock.
One round had the team collaborating on 10 questions together, while two rounds saw them working in pairs on a shuttle and a cross-number puzzle. Finally, there was a relay where competitors raced to collect questions and submit answers before the time ran out.
Perse Head of Maths Will Taylor said: “They beat their nearest competitors by a comfortable margin and their performance represented an astonishing level of creativity, consistency and concentration. They now look forward to receiving an invitation to the national finals in London in June.”
