Perse student selected for England ice hockey team
Huge congratulations to Oliver (Year 9) who has been selected to play for the Under 14 England Ice Hockey team. Oliver recently attended a training camp which involved on-ice sessions and matches in preparation for an international tournament in Finland which he hopes to attend next Easter.

He has said it is an honour to be able to play for England and is proud of all he has achieved within the sport so far.
Oliver first learnt to skate in the United States and has been playing for a total of eight years. He spends most of his time outside school hours practicing and developing his skills. Oliver says he was first noticed by his club leader and put forward to take part in the national trials, where he succeeded in making the team.
“I play for the Under 14 team now and the level gets higher every year. The main goal is to go professional one day.”
Oliver also plays field hockey, representing teams for both The Perse and his local club.
We wish him all the best as he continues to grow and progress with ice hockey in the coming years.
