Perse hockey team crowned Regional Champions

The Perse boys’ U12A hockey team have returned home as Regional Champions after an impressive performance at the Regional Hockey Tournament.

The boys got off to a flying start in the group stage, playing five matches against Stamford, Culford, Bishops Stortford College, Norwich and New Hall. They came through all five unbeaten, scoring 14 goals and conceding just one. A fantastic platform heading into the knockout rounds.

Our U12As carried that form into the semi-final, where goals from Jonny (two), Alex and Sam saw them past Bedford in a convincing 4-0 win.

There they met St Faiths in what proved to be an exciting and hard-fought match. The St Faiths players showed some remarkable pace, but the boys rose to the occasion beautifully.

Jonny continued his superb day with two more goals, captain Tom added a third, and goalkeeper Ryan produced a couple of crucial saves at just the right moments. The final score of 3-1 meant the trophy was heading back to The Perse.

As Regional Champions at this age group, there are no further rounds to come. Congratulations, and a huge well done to every member of the squad on a day to remember.
