Perse Ascent Group adventurers enjoy Norfolk camp

More than 100 Year 8 pupils embarked on an adventurous journey to Norfolk for their annual PES Ascent Group Granta Troop camp.
Accompanied by Year 10 and Sixth Form student leaders, the camp at Hautbois Activity Centre offered an exciting array of activities, including backwoods cooking, archery and the thrill of tackling a new high ropes course.
Throughout the camp, pupils were encouraged to embrace leadership and autonomy. Under the guidance of dedicated pupil leaders, younger students were taught the fundamentals of camping, while patrol groups took charge of preparing meals for the entire camp, including the staff. This hands-on approach fostered a sense of independence and teamwork.
Perse Director of Outdoor Education Ben Parker praised the pupils for their excellent behaviour and the camp’s resounding success.
He added: “I particularly commend the pupil leaders for their meticulous efforts in managing the logistics, which showcased their growing leadership and organisational skills.”
