Perse cricket team bowled over to reach national finals

The Perse girls’ U13 cricket team will aim to be big hitters at the School Sport T20 Cup national finals day tomorrow (Tuesday 1 July).
They have been in sensational form all season, having already been among the top 20 teams in the National Schools Indoor Cup, and they will be looking for more success in the T20 finals at King Edward VI School, Southampton.
The team’s progress to the finals began with a 47-run victory away to Kimbolton School, scoring 137 for 7 before bowling out the hosts for 90.
A 42-run triumph over Culford followed, as The Perse set a target of 116 for 7 before dismissing their opponents for 74.
In the quarter-finals, they won by seven wickets, seeing off Bromsgrove for 81 before responding with 82 for 3 to book their place at the national finals day.
They will now play Stamford in their semi-final, with the victors going on to face either St Swithun’s, or the winners of today’s quarter-final between Sevenoaks School and Guildford High School, in the final.
