MORE THAN A LEVELS

Clubs & Trips

We offer more than 100 clubs and societies, from bridge to sewing, robotics to debating, and literature to ecology, in addition to 70+ music ensembles and more than 150 sports teams.

One of our most popular extra-curricular options is the Perse Exploration Society. Our Sixth Form students have the chance to take part in a once in a lifetime international expedition at the end of Lower Sixth.

Clubs

The vast majority of our clubs run on a drop-in basis; we do not have centralised sign-ups on a termly basis as we are aware that pupils and families need flexibility given the extensive amount of school and extracurricular opportunities available. Exceptions to this include, for example, the Outdoor Education Department’s programme of activities and musical groups that demand an ongoing commitment.

The drop-in nature of many clubs means that after the end of the school day at 4pm we do not implement the same registration processes that operate for lessons and activities during the school day. Many groups will maintain an attendance register to keep track of commitment, but pupils often need flexibility around arrival or departure times from after school clubs, which we understand and facilitate wherever possible.

Please note that there may be times in the school year where involvement in a sports team, musical ensemble or dramatic company will mean priority needs to be given to that commitment over other clubs and societies. We strongly advise pupils to review with their tutor what clubs and societies they want to attend, so they can ensure they maintain a suitable balance of activities.
