Adder Technology Becomes Founding Sponsor of the Dr Perse Award
The Perse School, Cambridge is delighted to announce that Adder Technology, a specialist in connectivity solutions and high performance IP KVM, is to become founding sponsor of The Dr Perse Award, through a new 5 year community sponsorship agreement.
The partnership brings together two Cambridge organisations with a shared enthusiasm for innovation and for encouraging the next generation of thinkers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
The Dr Perse Award provides students with a platform to develop ideas, tackle real-world challenges and present entrepreneurial solutions. It encourages students to combine creativity, critical thinking and research skills, turning intellectual curiosity into ideas with practical potential.
The five-year agreement establishes a long-term relationship between The Perse and Adder Technology, supporting the development and delivery of the award with the long-term ambition of becoming a nationally recognised competition for young people.
For Adder, this sponsorship builds on its engineering heritage by investing in the next generation of thinkers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Supporting opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) alongside other disciplines reflects Adder’s commitment to education and the local community.
“Curiosity and the willingness to explore new ideas are fundamental to innovation,” said Curt Boon, SVP Engineering at Adder. “Through the Dr Perse Award, we are excited to inspire and encourage young people to ask questions, investigate challenges and develop the confidence to put their ideas forward. This commitment reflects our belief in the value of nurturing these skills and supporting the people who could shape future innovation.”
Ed Elliott, Principal of The Perse School, Cambridge, said: “Our founder, Dr Perse, was a seventeenth century Cambridge venture capitalist who as a mentor and investor supported local people and their businesses. Many of the individuals and businesses he supported achieved considerable success and Dr Perse used the resulting profits to found The Perse School. The school subsequently became a world leader in STEM teaching educating 3 Nobel Prize winners for science. As a school born out of entrepreneurship, we are delighted to be working with Adder to inspire the next generation of innovators and develop an award that celebrates entrepreneurs.”
The Perse is delighted to be embarking on this long-term relationship with Adder, building on our shared Cambridge roots and commitment to innovation. Together, we look forward to developing the Dr Perse Award and giving young people opportunities to follow their intellectual curiosity, explore ambitious ideas and develop the confidence to turn those ideas into solutions with real-world potential.
