Community Facilities & Clubs

Facilities, activities and courses open to the general public. The Perse offers a range of courses and facilities which are open to the public throughout the year.

Anyone can take advantage of our wide-ranging sports programmes, including our popular swimming and climbing courses at The Perse Sports Centre, and our facilities are also used by local community groups and sports clubs. The Perse Academy of Performing Arts is an exciting new programme offering classes in acting, dance, drama and musical theatre.

These classes take place on Saturdays and are aimed at children aged 4 to 18 years. For busy families looking for holiday care, our world-famous Summer School and our Easter and October camps cater for children from all schools.

Perse Sports Centre

A fully-equipped facility in Cambridge offering climbing and bouldering walls, swimming, fitness classes and community programmes for all ages.

Open to the public seven days a week our new Perse Sports Centre which includes a 25-metre swimming pool, 10.5m climbing wall and sports hall available for public use.

We offer children’s swimming lessons from Stages 1-10, climbing and bouldering levels 1-4 and swim sessions for all the family, as well as pay-and-play badminton and tennis.

The Perse Academy of Performing Arts (PAPA)

PAPA is a performing arts and technical theatre school in Cambridge offering weekly classes in performance and technical theatre for children aged 4-18 years. Occupying the stunning Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre, a professional-spec theatre which seats over 400 people. As a result, every child has access to training across every department of the theatre.

PAPA is open to all young people across Cambridgeshire, regardless of which school they attend or their experience level. We offer weekly classes, professional workshops with West End and film industry practitioners, and holiday camps, with performances all taking place in our professional-spec theatre.

The Perse Summer School & Holiday Camps
