A tradition of opportunity
Since Dr Stephen Perse founded the School in 1615, generosity has been central to our purpose. His vision was to create opportunities through education, enabling young people of ability to flourish and make a positive contribution to society.
Today, our Old Perseans, parents, staff and friends support The Perse, to enable us to provide life-changing bursaries, expand our outreach work and create opportunities that benefit both our pupils and the wider community. Every gift, whatever its size, helps secure the future of The Perse.
Why does The Perse need philanthropic support?
School fees fund the day-to-day education of our pupils, but they cannot provide everything that defines The Perse’s wider mission. The generosity of Old Perseans, parents, staff and friends helps to support The Perse and allows us to go further.
Philanthropic support helps us to:
- Provide life-changing bursaries for talented pupils whose families could not otherwise afford a Perse education.
- Expand our outreach programmes, sharing educational opportunities with local schools and young people across our community.
- Invest in exceptional opportunities that enrich pupils’ learning beyond the classroom and ensure The Perse continues to thrive for future generations.

Ways to Support The Perse
By donating to The Perse, you are providing the opportunity for young people, who would not otherwise be able to attend the School, to realise their full potential. Investing in the future of young people is the best way to make the world a better place.
Pupils who receive bursaries go on to make huge positive impacts in their communities, becoming healthcare professionals, teachers, public representatives and more. Your generosity has an enormous impact. It does not just help individual pupils in the short term – it also allows them to embark on careers that benefit entire communities.
A gift in your Will is a lasting way to honour your connection with The Perse and help ensure that future generations of talented young people can benefit from the opportunities you enjoyed.
