The Perse featured in Tatler Schools Guide 2027
We are delighted that The Perse School Cambridge has been recognised in the Tatler Schools Guide 2027, Tatler’s annual showcase of the UK’s leading independent schools.
The review highlights our vibrant academic culture, extensive co-curricular opportunities, and the supportive community that defines life at The Perse.
The Schools Guide write-up draws attention to our newly refurbished science laboratory, describing it as a fitting addition given The Perse’s distinguished scientific heritage.
Tatler notes the achievement of Old Persean John Clarke, who received a 2025 Nobel Prize for his work in super-computing, and highlights that with three Nobel winners educated here, The Perse boasts “more Nobel laureates to its name than some countries.”

Capturing the ethos of the school, Tatler also quotes a current pupil describing the atmosphere as having a “wholly unique feeling that everyone around you is genuinely invested and interested in what they can learn.”
Beyond academic curiosity, we’re pleased to see Schools Guide celebrating the broad array of opportunities enjoyed by Perse pupils, including recent student successes, such as reaching the finals of international debating competitions and securing wins in national mathematics contests and Schools’ Challenge (the junior equivalent of University Challenge).

There was also a nod to significant developments in sport and the arts at The Perse, including The Perse Sports Centre, our newest sports facility and The Perse School of Performing Arts.

The Tatler Schools Guide 2027 is published alongside the October issue of Tatler.
To learn more about life at The Perse, visit us at our upcoming Open Events, on 26 September (Upper School and Sixth Form) and 3 October (Pelican and Prep School). We look forward to seeing you there!
