FIND YOUR INTERESTS. PLAY YOUR PART.

Clubs and Trips

With more than 100 clubs and societies, pupils can pursue their interests, start new initiatives and take on increasing responsibility as they move through the School.

The vast majority of our clubs run on a drop-in basis; we do not have centralised sign-ups on a termly basis as we are aware that pupils and families need flexibility given the extensive amount of school and extracurricular opportunities available.

Exceptions to this include, for example, the Outdoor Education Department‘s programme of activities and musical groups that demand an ongoing commitment.

The drop-in nature of many clubs means that after the end of the school day at 4pm we do not implement the same registration processes that operate for lessons and activities during the school day. Many groups will maintain an attendance register to keep track of commitment, but pupils often need flexibility around arrival or departure times from after school clubs, which we understand and facilitate wherever possible.

Please note that there may be times in the school year where involvement in a sports team, musical ensemble or dramatic company will mean priority needs to be given to that commitment over other clubs and societies.

We strongly advise pupils to review with their tutor what clubs and societies they want to attend, so they can ensure they maintain a suitable balance of activities.
