VALUED & SUPPORTED

Inclusion

At the Prep, we want every pupil to feel known, respected and able to participate fully in school life. Our inclusive community celebrates individuality while helping children develop the empathy, confidence and understanding they need to learn and flourish alongside others.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded throughout the curriculum rather than confined to individual events or lessons. Through Global Perspectives, Linguistics, Personal, Social, Health and Economic education, assemblies, literature, International Day, Wellbeing Week, Inspiration Week, visiting speakers and educational trips, pupils encounter different cultures, beliefs, identities and experiences. They are encouraged to question stereotypes, consider issues of fairness and social justice and engage thoughtfully with perspectives beyond their own.

Key religious celebrations further broaden pupils’ understanding, while pupil voice gives children meaningful opportunities to share ideas, listen to others and contribute to the life of the School.

Teachers monitor pupils’ progress carefully so that individual learning needs can be identified early and supported with adaptive teaching strategies in class. Our learning support staff work closely with pupils, families and teachers to provide appropriate, personalised strategies where required. Any individual learning needs are met with targeted and ongoing support or with more specific intervention so that pupils can become increasingly independent.

The 2026 inspection found that the curriculum is carefully planned to promote inclusivity and identified the School’s commitment to inclusion, equality and diversity as a “significant strength”.
