Future You: The Perse Employability Programme

Alongside the Futures guidance programme, all Year 12 students take part in Future You — The Perse Employability Programme. Delivered through a series of expert-led enrichment afternoons, Future You is structured around five core pillars that together prepare students for the world of work, equipping them with the professional skills, self-awareness and networks they will need throughout their careers.

The programme is led by external experts and experienced Perse staff, including specialist practitioners from industry and our own alumni community. Each pillar combines a taught focus with a hands-on workshop, ensuring that skills are practised as well as understood.

In addition to the five pillars, the programme is enriched by a series of complementary opportunities that run alongside it throughout the year:

Inspired Futures Breakfasts bring students into informal conversation with professionals across a wide range of sectors. Perse Network Careers Talks offer insight into specific industries and career paths from people who know them from the inside. OP Talks give students direct access to alumni at all stages of their careers, while Networking Events provide structured practice in the professional relationship-building skills that Future You develops. Together, these opportunities ensure that the employability programme extends well beyond the classroom.

We know that parents and carers are a vital part of the Futures journey. Our programme includes a rich calendar of events and communications designed to keep families well-informed and actively involved at every stage.
