Outstanding university destinations for Perse Year 13 leavers
From Medicine and Engineering to Mathematics, Economics and Politics, Perse leavers are progressing to an exceptional range of courses at leading universities in the UK and around the world.
As our 2026 leavers prepare to begin university life, we are delighted to celebrate an exceptional range of destinations and courses that reflect their hard work, talent and ambition.
Our Year 13 leavers have secured places at some of the world’s most highly regarded universities. A third of students progressing to UK universities are heading to one of the G5 universities: Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL or LSE, while 30 students are progressing to Oxford or Cambridge, representing around one in seven of the entire cohort.
Sixty students (29.7% of the cohort) will study at universities ranked in the QS World Top 10, and more than 40% of the cohort is progressing to a university ranked within the QS World Top 50. Almost half of students with a named higher education destination are heading to a Complete University Guide UK top-ten university.

The strength of destinations is reflected across the cohort. Of 194 confirmed UK university destinations, 183 (94.3%) are to Russell Group universities, Bath or St Andrews, with 171 students progressing specifically to Russell Group institutions.
Durham University is the most popular destination this year, welcoming 28 Perse students, followed by Oxford (21), UCL (20), King’s College London (13) and Imperial College London (11). Overall, 104 students, more than half of those progressing to higher education, will attend one of six institutions: Durham, Oxford, UCL, King’s College London, Warwick or Imperial.
The breadth of university destinations is matched by an equally impressive range of course choices. Medicine is the most popular subject destination, with 24 students progressing to medical degrees, meaning more than one in ten members of the cohort will be studying Medicine. Engineering is the second most popular destination, attracting 20 students, followed by Mathematics & Statistics (16), Politics, PPE and International Relations (16), and Economics & Finance (14). More than half of all named course destinations fall within STEM, medicine, health or life sciences.
The international outlook of Perse students is also reflected in a number of overseas destinations. Students have secured places at institutions including UCLA, New York University, Bocconi University, the University of British Columbia, TU Delft and Washington University in St. Louis.
These outstanding destinations reflect years of dedication, intellectual curiosity and perseverance, supported by teachers, tutors and families throughout each student’s time at The Perse.
We are incredibly proud of all our 2026 leavers and wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.
