Perse pupils get set for Sweden expedition with training camp

Perse pupils were put through their paces with a half term training camp in preparation for next summer’s PES Summit 11 adventure in Sweden.
They spent four days at Chrishall Grange developing skills for their upcoming expedition to the Scadinavian country’s lake district.
In a departure from typical seasonal weather, the group enjoyed mild and predominantly dry conditions, which helped foster a positive environment for their experience.
Throughout the camp, students participated in various training sessions that included how to build shelters using tarps, canoeing, fire lighting and cooking on fire boxes, as well as the safe handling of cutting tools.
Perse Outdoor Education Operations Manager Kieron Taylor, who led the camp, said: “Pupils showed great enthusiasm for their training and have come away well prepared for next year’s trip.”
