Festive mood sparked by Perse Prep and Pelican Christmas shows

The spirit of Christmas was in full swing as Perse Prep and Pelican pupils provided a feast of entertainment with their fantastic festive shows.

Nursery children at the Pelican demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas with their heart-warming Nativity production.

Meanwhile, Reception youngsters performed a twist on the traditional tale with the amazing Angel Express.

Having seen the announcement of the birth of Jesus on the front page of Heaven’s newspaper, after which the production is named, a host of angels form a choir, but can they get their act together quickly enough to celebrate in the stable?

At the Prep, Year 3 got into the festive spirit with their entertaining and educational show, A Christmas Collection.

Woven together with wonderful carols, the production highlighted the history behind Christmas trees, crackers and cards, the story of the Christmas truce in World War I, and how Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer came to be.

What a Knight! was had by the audience watching Year 4’s magical musical adventure as they were taken back to a Camelot castle full of larger-than-life characters.

The story followed aspiring squire Watt Cobblers, who became the reluctant apprentice of Merlin after being kicked out of Knight School.

Chaos occurred when the wizard lost Excalibur and King Arthur’s daughters were kidnapped, but Watt and his friends Dusty Dragon and Princess Alice saved the day after defeating the Black Knight.
