Peak District piques excitement for Perse Ascent Group

An unforgettable adventure in the Peak District was embarked on by more than 150 Perse Year 9 pupils taking part in the PES Ascent Group summer camp.

Joined by enthusiastic Year 10 and Sixth Form student leaders, they took part in a wide range of adventurous activities, including raft building, high ropes challenges, backwoods cooking and an off-site hike with overnight camping.

Throughout the camp, pupils embraced responsibility and teamwork, honing their camping and leadership skills.

Each patrol group took charge of planning and preparing meals, even cooking for staff members, showcasing independence and collaboration at every stage.

Ben Parker, Perse Director of Outdoor Education, praised the group for their resilience and camaraderie:

He said: “The pupil leaders demonstrated exemplary leadership and organisational skills when managing camp logistics and ensuring the camp’s success.”
