Perse students run to victory in national Cross Country competitions

Several Perse cross-country teams have recently secured a set of outstanding national results.

In November, The Perse was represented by three teams: the U16 and U14 boys’ teams, along with our U14 girls’ team at a one day running event at Harrow School..

All three teams ran extraordinarily well with the junior girls (U14s) earning fourth place, and both the junior boys (U14s) and intermediate boys (U16s) finishing first in their respective categories.

Furthermore, our U13, U15 and U18 girls’ and boys’ teams all qualified for the regional finals after some fantastic races in the county finals. From these, the U15 and U18 boys’ teams have progressed to the national finals, which will take place in December, which will be hosted by Princethorpe College, Rugby, Warwickshire.

This is an outstanding achievement and Mr Chris Ingram, who runs cross country, said “the sport is in a very good place at the moment and it is great to have two teams representing the school in a national final”.
