Perse skiers chill out in Tignes

In December, an enthusiastic cohort of fifty Year 9 and 10 students took to the slopes of Tignes, France, for their annual ski trip.

Staying in a central Tignes resort, students of all abilities enjoyed fantastic conditions on the slopes throughout the week. Their convenient location meant a short walk to lifts each morning, and students made full use of the extensive terrain, with many skiing across for a short visit to neighbouring Val d’Isère.

Our teachers and staff reported that weather was ‘almost perfect’, with sunny skies and plenty of snow, while the relatively quiet slopes made learning and exploring even more enjoyable for all.

Our Après-ski programme was equally action-packed! Pupils enjoyed making memories trying snow tubing, exploring festive Christmas markets, and tasting some delicious traditional crepes.

Ski instructors were suitably impressed with pupils’ resilience, determination, and teamwork. Thanks to their collective effort and high enthusiasm, progress came quickly, and every student felt supported by each other throughout the experience.

At the end of a packed week of skiing, all students received their ESF gradings and came together to celebrate their success. Ms Lipp remarked of the trip, “It was an amazing week overall! Honestly, an incredible time. The students were brilliant and really made the most of the opportunity.”

Our Year 9s and 10s were also overjoyed and had the following to say about their experience:

“I enjoyed spending time with my friends and making new friendships.”

“It was an amazing trip, I had so much fun. The scenery was beautiful.”

“The instructors were really good and I made lots of progress with my skiing.”

“I enjoyed spending time with my friends and making new friendships.”

“You could tell the teachers had put a lot of effort in to organising the trip.”

We’re so pleased for everyone involved. Well done to students for their efforts, and for staff for organising and facilitating the trip. We can’t wait until next year!
