RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

Staff Research

There is an active research culture across the staff. This commitment to continuing professional development makes The Perse a stimulating place to work and provides the best possible educational experiences for pupils.

Teaching staff can participate in research projects on a regular basis in a range of different ways. The findings of their projects are shared through department meetings and Research Twilight events, with some staff going on to publish their work in educational journals or presenting their work at conferences such as ResearchEd.

Perse Research Team

Each year, a particular focus is chosen for research to support the school’s development plan. Six members of staff from across various departments and contexts work together to explore this theme and choose an aspect to study which is particularly relevant to their own teaching. The six projects are then drawn together into a digital publication.

Independent Research

Several teachers at The Perse have undertaken part-time study towards Master of Education qualifications. Often the second year of a Master’s programme will involve an extensive research project. Some members of staff choose to pursue a particular research interest and complete a piece of educational research independently. The Head of Research is available to support staff choosing to carry out educational research in any capacity.

External Collaborations

The school has participated in some national research projects too. We would welcome enquiries from researchers interested in conducting educational research that could benefit our pupils.
