Perse students qualify for Wimbledon national finals

Two Year 9 Perse students have secured a place in the national finals of the Play Your Way to Wimbledon 2026 competition. Beau and Yanyi will now go on to compete on the iconic Wimbledon grass in August.

Play Your Way to Wimbledon is a nationwide tennis competition run by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), offering players of all abilities the opportunity to compete and progress through local and regional stages to reach the prestigious National Finals at Wimbledon. The competition is Britain’s largest mass participation tennis competition, and provides a unique opportunity for players to experience competitive tennis and enjoy the sport on one of its most iconic stages.

We are delighted to share that Year 9 students Beau and Yanyi won the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk area round of the 18U Boys Doubles event in the 2026 competition. Their excellent teamwork and strong performances throughout the tournament earned them progression to the National Finals, which will take place this August.

Congratulations to Beau and Yanyi on this fantastic achievement. It is a remarkable accomplishment and an exciting opportunity for both players to compete on the same courts as the world’s best tennis players.
