How to Apply

We look forward to getting to know your child

The next step

Parents wishing to apply for a place for their child in Year 7 or Year 9 should complete the relevant registration form and return it to the School with a £75 registration fee, by 15 December in the year prior to entry. Applications for music scholarships in Year 7 and Year 9 must also be received by 15 December in the year prior to entry.

Assessment

All pupils who have applied for a place at The Perse School are assessed in the academic year prior to entry. The written entrance tests are stretching and will go beyond the primary school curriculum (for Year 7 entry) or what a pupil may have been taught in the first two years of secondary school (for Year 9 entry) but we work hard to ensure that these tests are accessible to all.

The entrance test consists of papers in maths, English, verbal reasoning. All candidates will also have a short interview/chat with a Perse teacher along with a short humanities video/questions exercise. A confidential reference will be sought from the child’s current school.

Pupils with Special Educational Needs should discuss their application with the school prior to the entrance test.

The entrance tests for entry in September 2017 will take place on Saturday 14 January 2017. Offers are usually made at the end of January/beginning of February, and the acceptance deadline is during March.
