Tom Findlay is a DJ and one half of the music duo Groove Armada, who are well known for their electronic house music. They have released nine albums and collaborated with a number of artists.
Throughout his time at The Perse, Tom developed a love for music, teaching himself to play keyboard and guitar in the evenings. He went on to study at Manchester University, where he secured a regular spot as a DJ at club nights.
Tom spent six months working with Empire Productions in New York City, where he had the opportunity to promote and attend many celebrity events. He returned to London and worked for a short while in PR until he met Andy Cato, who would later become the other half of Groove Armada. They promoted a number of club nights before producing their first record, ‘At The River’, which they released as a limited edition 7” vinyl in 1997. The record surpassed all expectations, and Groove Armada have gone on to be an incredibly successful group, releasing nine studio albums to date. They achieved chart success with their singles “I See You Baby” and “Superstylin“. Their recordings have been nominated for several Grammy and UK Music Awards.
In 2005 Tom set up Tunetribe, a musical download store that offers content from major record labels, independents, and unsigned artists.
