Extensive games fields and an all-weather pitch provide excellent facilities for competitive sport. Most training and fixtures take place during curriculum time, as part of our PE and games programme, and there are also opportunities for the teams to train together after school.
We take part in the key national tournaments, and in 2016 the U11 boys’ hockey and football teams, and the U11 girls’ netball team, all qualified for the IAPS National Finals. Each year we run a mixed international hockey tour.
We offer a good range of popular lunchtime and after-school sports clubs. These include a table tennis club coached by ex-England international Mark Mitchell; racket and bat sports; martial arts including Taekwondo, Kung Fu and Judo; running; multisports; yoga and football (for both girls and boys).
After school ballet classes aim to instill correct technique in a fun and imaginative way, while there are lunchtime lessons in jazz and street dance and an after-school opportunity for the youngest pupils to take part in an aerobic dance club. A fun disco on Friday lunchtime rounds off the week.
Many pupils are members of sports and dance clubs outside school, and achieve considerable success at high level. We regularly have county cricketers, hockey players in the Cambridgeshire Junior Development Centre (Elite Performance), table tennis national finalists, tennis champions and triathletes in our pupil body.
