The Perse is aware that the Covid-19 pandemic is causing financial hardship for many families.
In response to the pandemic, The Perse is extending its existing emergency bursary scheme and making it available across all three schools. Families with children at the Pelican, Prep and Upper are eligible to apply for means-tested assistance if they are suffering financial distress and experiencing difficulties paying the termly fees as a result of the current situation.
Emergency bursaries are available to pupils who are already at The Perse during the academic year 2019-20. With regret we are unable to offer emergency bursaries to pupils due to join the school at a future date.
If you would like further information in order to apply for a means-tested emergency bursary, please contact Bursary-Application@perse.co.uk
A copy of the school’s bursary policy is available here.

Perse Bursary Scheme and the Principles Underlying Emergency Bursaries
Our founder’s dream four centuries ago was to establish a school where boys of any background could benefit from the life changing experience of an excellent education. Today’s Perse is very different to that of the early days – not least in welcoming girls – yet our ethos remains true to the founding principles. We work hard to keep fees relatively affordable – usually lower than those of similar independent schools.
- School fees per term – £5,442
- School fees per year – £16,326
Lunch is included in the fees.
- Registration fee – £150
- Securing and induction fee – £595 (£750 for non-UK, EU and EEA applicants)
The registration fee reflects the costs incurred by the School in administering the admissions process before the offer of a place is made and is non-refundable irrespective of whether or not the registered child actually attends the entrance tests.
The securing and induction fee is payable when an offer of a place is accepted and reflects the administration costs incurred by the School in the preparation for new pupils entering the School including new pupil and parent induction arrangements. This fee is non-refundable.
Fees are reviewed annually and the fees for the following year are usually announced at the end of March.
We do not offer scholarships for Prep pupils, but pupils transferring from the Prep to the Upper are considered for scholarships at the Upper.
