Dramatic win for Perse pupils at classics competition

Perse performers took centre stage with success in the Cambridge Classical Association Junior Reading Competition.

The Year 8 team of Alexander Walker, Amy Keen, Lekhana Katuri, Tanvi Kommi and Rachel Wang claimed top prize in the Latin dramatic performance category with their well-acted recreation of a dispute in the Pompeian law court.

Alexander Walker also came runner-up in the Latin prose section with his passionate and precise rendering of the set passage, while Sophie Ramsden and Konstantinos Brilakis (both Year 9) also performed well.

Perse Head of Classics Seb Foster said: “Both the Greek and Latin prose individual categories were very competitive. All the students involved gave an excellent account of themselves and the school.”
