Number knowledge adds up to success for Perse pupils

Perse pupils have achieved outstanding results in recent national maths competitions.

In the Intermediate Maths Challenge, out of 475 pupils from Years 8 to 11 who took part, 190 achieved Gold, 145 Silver and 88 Bronze certificates. Of these, 164 pupils have qualified for the follow-on rounds which will take place next month.

Notably, David Edgington (Year 11) scored full marks, while Yixuan Hu (Year 8), Marcus Li, Tianyi Shan (both Year 9) and Ryan Stubbs (Year 10) claimed the top scores in their respective year groups.

Meanwhile, in Round 2 of the British Maths Olympiad, the most prestigious UK Maths Trust competition, there were exceptional performances from Mabel Symes (Upper Sixth), who gained an outstanding Distinction, and Ryan Stubbs, who was awarded a Merit.
