Perse School wins prestigious podcasting award
The Perse School Cambridge has won the 2023 Silver InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Award for the inspiring podcast series, The Diary of a Future CEO.
In the only international competition that recognises excellence in independent school marketing and communications, the Perse podcast series was judged to be the best in the UK.
The entries were judged by a panel of marketing experts from around the world who are professionals in their field. Entries were scored on originality, creativity, professionalism, execution and overall appeal.
The judges commented: “The podcast series was insightful and perfectly pitched at students who may be confused as to their future direction. It was quite inspiring. It showcased that anything is possible and life can offer many choices beyond school – even the ones you never considered.
I enjoyed the diversity of the stories and the fact they focused on the different trajectories of students.”
Perse Director of Communications Claire Ziwa, who came up with the concept and presented the award-winning series commented: “It means so much to us that the hard work and effort of everyone involved in our podcast series has been recognised with this award.
“I would especially like to acknowledge the time given by our former students (Old Perseans) who shared their personal journeys in the areas of music, sport, engineering and STEM, to inspire other young people.
“We made the series to inspire future generations, showing that life might not always work out as you originally thought it would, but not to let that hold you back from having a dream and living your best life.
“The idea for the series was originally inspired by Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a CEO. We actually offered the idea to his team, suggesting they could make a series with young people (future CEOs!) but we never heard back from them, so we made our own series anyway!
“The judges were impressed that the podcast was also available for viewing on YouTube, and for this hard work I would like to thank our film production team, Editor/Director Adam Crossland, and the film crew from Stone Productions. Everyone worked together so well, and this resulted in a podcast series that we hope is as enjoyable to listen to as it was to make.”
