Perse students receive outstanding number of Oxbridge offers

Perse students have received an impressive number of Oxbridge offers from the 2023-24 admissions cycle.

From 112 applications, 41 have been offered Oxbridge places, with 21 offers from Cambridge University and 20 from Oxford University.

Offers have been received for a very wide range of subjects including medicine, natural sciences, modern foreign languages, computer science, geography and English.

The news follows on from The Perse being named top independent secondary school for academic performance in East Anglia for the second year in a row in the 2024 edition of Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide.

Head Ed Elliott commented: “We are really pleased that so many Perse students have secured offers from top universities including Oxford and Cambridge this year. The hard work and dedication of our students and their teachers is reflected in the wide subject range of offers received.

“Particular thanks must go to our university advice team, led by Director of University Admissions and Progression Claire Knowles who works closely with our Associate Director of University Admissions Stuart Jack, and the wider team of specialist advisors. These staff work with students to ensure they have the best opportunity to achieve their first-choice university offer.

“Perse students are well known for achieving the best A level results in the region with 78% of Perse students being awarded an A* or A grade in 2023. We wish all students in the Upper Sixth the very best in the weeks ahead as they prepare for their exams and the future opportunities they will enjoy beyond school.”
