Perse students are maths marvels in major competitions

Perse students have displayed plenty of numerical knowledge with success in prestigious maths competitions.

The Senior Maths Challenge saw 300 pupils from Year 10 to Upper Sixth take part, with 91 awarded Gold, 95 Silver and 91 Bronze.

Notably, Tom Hammond (Lower Sixth) earned full marks, while John Lau (Upper Sixth), Thehan De Silva (Year 11) and Roy Han (Year 10) achieved the highest score in their year groups.

In the Maths Olympiad for Girls, out of the 48 participants, 22 earned Distinctions and 20 achieved Merit awards. The following students attained the highest scores in their year groups – Mabel Symes (Upper Sixth), Christine Chen and Millie Ely (both Lower Sixth), Zoe Walters (Year 11) and Emily Cheng (Year 10).

Based on the results of these competitions, 16 Perse students have qualified for the illustrious British Maths Olympiad next week.
