National finals await Perse Prep hockey team

The Perse Prep girls’ U11 hockey team have qualified for the IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) national finals.

They travelled to Ipswich School for the regional round tournament and set their stall out with a 4-0 triumph against Old Buckenham Hall in their opening group game.

The team went on top their pool with successive 1-0 victories over Norwich School and Woodbridge School.

Nail-biting knockout matches ensued as the Prep girls held their nerve to win their quarter and semi-finals on penalty strokes – 2-0 against Felsted after a goalless draw and 3-2 over Langley following a 1-1 stalemate respectively.

They went on to take the regional title by beating Sevenoaks School 1-0 in the final and will now head to Millfield for the IAPS national finals next month.
