Perse Pelicans complete Charity Marathon mission

Perse Pelican pupils took it all in their stride as they raised funds for good causes with their annual Charity Marathon.

They got up to speed with a warm-up in the school hall before running circuits of the Pelican site and collecting stickers for each lap thy completed.

Overall, the Pelicans’ painstaking efforts saw them manage a total of 2,519 laps, which equated to almost 13 whole marathons!

Nursery put their best feet forward to finish 251 circuits (just over one marathon) and Reception pupils 565 laps (almost three marathons), while Years 1 and 2 completed 786 (about four marathons) and 917 laps (almost five marathons) respectively.

Everyone cooled down with a welcome ice lolly after their marathon challenge, which raised funds for the pupils’ chosen charities, The Sick Children’s Trust and Make-A-Wish.
