Perse pupil on target for national title

Carla Campos Zanotti Gerosa (Year 10) hit the target as she claimed the British Schools Small-bore Rifle Association (BSSRA) Junior Championships title.

She scored a phenomenal total of 199 out of a possible 200 over two rounds to be crowned national champion and win the prestigious Yool Cup, finishing four shots ahead of her nearest rival.

Yining Lan (Year 11) was joint-third with 192 and Rena Li (Year 11) a point further behind in joint-fifth, while Alisha Brown, Sophie Ji (both Year 11), Maia Polonius (Year 10) and Arina Milke (Year 8) were joint-eighth with 189.

In the BSSRA Senior Championships, Eos Liao (Upper Sixth) was the pick of the Perse participants as she scored 295 out of 300 to finish joint-second.

Perse teams have also performed well in their respective divisions in the BSSRA Spring League.

Carla Campos Zanotti Gerosa was joined by Sophia Chua, Sophie Ji, Yining Lan and Rena Li (all Year 11) as the A team finished runners-up in Section 1, Division 2.

The B team of Alisha Brown, Esme Hallam, Kalyani Cole-Parnaik (all Year 11), Maia Polonius and Carole Tucker (Lower Sixth) were third in Section 1, Division 6.

In Section 2, Carla Campos Zanotti Gerosa, Arina Milke, Maia Polonius and Lucy Tilbrook (Year 10) were third in Division 1, while the team of Neve Chua, Danna Wang (both Year 8), Laetitia Lowe and Anirudh Menon (both Year 9) topped Division 2.
