Christmas shows get Perse Prep into festive spirit

The Christmas mood has been building at The Perse Prep with a series of fantastic festive performances.

In their entertaining production Christmas…What’s It All About?, Year 3 took a fun and factual look at the origins of many of our favourite festive traditions.

From how Christmas trees came to be a staple in the home during the festive period to the creation of the Christmas cracker, the audience discovered how they came to be as popular as they are today.

Year 4 delved into The Button Box for an engaging show full of marvellous music and great humour.

Inside the box were a plethora of old and interesting buttons and as children pulled them out one by one, the stories they brought to life weaved a tapestry of family history from sailors who travelled the seven seas to soldiers who fought in World War I.

Meanwhile, the Michaelmas Concert saw almost 100 talented Prep musicians fill the Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre at the Upper with sensational sounds.

No less than 16 ensembles took part in the event, which was rounded off with an excellent recital from the full Prep Orchestra.
