Perse orienteers navigate their way to national medals

Perse students skilfully charted their way to success at the British Schools Score Orienteering Championships in Derbyshire.
More than 20 pupils represented the school in the competition at Heanor’s Shipley Park, in which students had to locate as many of the 30 control points on the course as possible within a 45-minute time limit.
The Year 7-9 girls’ team won gold in their category, while the boys’ Year 7-9 team clinched silver medals.
There were also individual successes with Hebe Darwin and Erik Biernacki-Jablonski taking silver medals in the girls’ Year 10-11 and boys’ Year 7 classes respectively.
In addition, bronze medals went to Amy Keen (girls’ Year 7), Hannah Wicks (girls’ Year 12-13) and Marcus Wentzell (boys’ Year 10-11).
