Platinum Jubilee celebrated in style by Perse Prep pupils

The Perse Prep was turned red, white and blue for a special Platinum Jubilee-themed House activity day.
Every corner of the UK was represented during a day of fun and games to celebrate the 70th anniversary of HM The Queen’s reign.
Children displayed imaginative icing as they took part in the Great English biscuit challenge and had a go at making origami Irish shamrocks.
Pupils also had a great time learning how to sing like a Welsh choir and dance in the style of the Scottish ceilidh before giving patriotic performances in the hall and playground respectively.
Lots of Union Jacks were in show as everyone came together in the sun to savour a wonderful Platinum Jubilee picnic on Leighton Lawn.
Ethan got right into the spirit of the occasion by wearing a jacket made from a Union Jack. He said: “Some people think I’ve gone over the top, but I’m very patriotic.”
Meanwhile, Reina, whose name fittingly means ‘queen’ in Spanish, said she had enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations, especially the Scottish dancing, which she rated “one million out of one million!”
