Perse netball team perform well at national finals

The Perse U16 netball team staged a fine display at the National Schools Championships finals.
They beat Whitburn Church of England Academy 10-9 in their only win of the finals at Oundle School.
However, despite suffering narrow defeats in their other pool matches, the team put on a great show in an extremely testing competition.
Perse Acting Head of Netball Millie Diss said: “The quality of netball on display at nationals was on another level and like nothing the girls had every faced before, but they stepped up and did themselves proud in every single match.
“There were some incredibly close and tightly contested games where I felt the score didn’t reflect their performance.
“Our shooting was on top form and the pressure throughout the court and in defence was admirable. The girls communicated and encouraged each other throughout and always performed with a smile.
“The grit and determination shown by all the girls was unbelievable. They fought so incredibly hard and left absolutely everything on the court.
“It was such an achievement to even make it to nationals in the first place. The squad have such a bright future ahead of them.”
