National physics olympiad success for Perse students
Perse students have displayed their physics knowledge with outstanding results in national competitions.
Jay Sardesai (Upper Sixth) claimed Gold in Round 2 of the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) and was among the top 12 students in the country.
This has earned him a spot in the Easter training camp from which a five-strong team will be selected to represent the UK at the International Physics Olympiad in July.
Emma Harris (Lower Sixth) and Iain Lam (Upper Sixth) took Silver and Daniel Chen (lower Sixth) for their efforts in the BPhO.
Meanwhile in the British Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad (BAAO), Emma Harris earned Gold and a place in the final round training camp from which the UK team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics (IOAA) in August will be chosen.
Emma will be aiming to be included in the British squad for the second successive year after clinching Gold in the 2021 IOAA.
Jay Sardesai clinched Silver in the BAAO, while Iain Lam and Daniel Chen achieved Bronze.
