Perse students hit the mark to reach national finals

Perse students proved to be hotshots in qualification for the BSSRA (British Schools Small-bore Rifle Association) Championships national finals, where the leading 25 participants in the senior category and top 20 in the junior section make it through to the respective finals.

In the BSSRA senior championships, Liliana French (Lower Sixth) was runner-up in qualification after hitting 295 out of a possible 300 across three rounds. She was also the only competitor to score a perfect 100 out of 100 with her third and final round.

Also through were Will Bacon (Upper Sixth), who finished seventh with a total of 291, Ewan Smith (Upper Sixth) who came in 21st place with 287 and Cara Hollis and Eos Liao (both Lower Sixth) who were joint-22nd with 286.

Cara Campos Zanotti Gerosa (Year 9) was the highest-ranked Perse pupil in junior qualification as she came joint-fifth after hitting 199 out of 200.

She will be joined in the finals by Sophie Ji (Year 10), who was joint-12th with 198, and Yining Lan (Year 10), who finished 20th with 197.
