Perse netball teams qualify for regional finals

The regional finals of the National Schools Netball Championships await the Perse U16 and U14 teams following fantastic displays in their respective county tournaments.
Both teams qualified for the East finals after finishing runners-up in their Cambridgeshire competitions, held at The Perse.
The U16 team won their first four games in the round-robin event with triumphs against Hinchingbrooke School (11-0), Impington Village College (12-10), St Mary’s School (13-5) and King’s Ely (15-6).
Despite then losing 7-3 to the Stephen Perse Foundation (SPF), they bounced back to beat The Peterborough School 16-5 in their final match to secure their spot in the regional finals, which will take place at Stanborough in January.

The U14 side got off to a fine start with a 15-1 victory over King’s Ely before going down narrowly 7-6 to SPF.
However, they confirmed second place and qualification for the East finals by defeating Hinchingbrooke 10-1 and St Mary’s 8-3.
Perse Acting Head of Netball Millie Diss said: “It was an absolutely fantastic result for both teams, with some incredible netball played by all girls involved. We are so proud of what they achieved.”
