Perse students celebrate GCSE results
12 Aug 2021
Congratulations to our I/GCSE exam candidates on the outstanding results they have received today.
For the fourth year in succession more than 94% of entries were awarded an A*-A/9-7 grade.
The 2021 teacher/school-assessed grades were based on pupils’ performances in mini assessments which typically took the form of past exam board papers. There were three such I/GCSE papers in most subjects, so a student taking 10 subjects would usually have sat 30 papers over the course of six weeks.
Head Ed Elliott commented: “The 2021 I/GCSE and GCSE results are the product of a different assessment system, but this should not negate the outstanding grades that pupils have achieved. Students have worked incredibly hard in challenging circumstances and have shown considerable resourcefulness and resilience in successfully adapting to all the teaching, learning and assessment changes that the Covid pandemic has caused.
“The students should be immensely proud of their grades and I congratulate them and their teachers on what has been achieved.”
